Colossians 3:23-24
Exodus 1:1-2:2

Main Points

Humans are constantly restless, looking to improve or change just about everything they come into contact with. We never seem to be at peace with where we are or what we are. Christians are not immune to this dysfunction: we compare ourselves to others. They are more devout, pious, stronger in faith, doing more for the gospel, etc. What is the root of our lack of confidence in our relationship with Christ and what can we find in Scripture to help us?

Focus Questions

  1. Is there evidence in my thoughts and actions that my relationship with God needs improvement?

  2. What voices am I listening to that I allow to influence my decisions and attitudes?

  3. How can I know that I am where God wants me to be and I am living in His will?
